A match will be played tomorrow afternoon, Saturday 10th October, to celebrate the re-opening of the Arisaig Playing Field. There is great excitement and anticipation among the local young players as they are, once again, allowed back onto the field after several months’ absence while the area has undergone a major upgrade.
The first test for the new playing surface will come tomorrow, when a spirited match will be played between an ‘Old Crocks’ team and the local primary school. Kick off is at 1 pm, and hot pies and drinks will be served at half-time.
Other work still to be carried out on the field will include the installation of adventure play equipment, plus picnic tables and seating. The addition of this recreational area will result in the creation of an excellent community amenity space. Our thanks go to Sportscotland, The Robertson Trust, The Highland Council, The Gower Trust and the Arisaig Fund, without whose help the successful conclusion of this project would not have been possible. Our grateful thanks too to the Macmillan Trust, for allowing the Arisaig Community Trust to lease this piece of land.
Ready for play!
